Over the past decade, the brand has evolved but its original visual identity has remained unwavering. Drawing on the colours of the Czech and Slovak flags and the bold style of samizdat protest posters, we made sure it stays deliberately simple, so each year’s theme can be in focus.

Broaden horizons

What’s the theme for this year? The festival’s 14th edition is all about Horizons. It celebrates cinema’s ability to expand our perspectives, connect cultures and encourage us to look beyond the familiar. Bringing together contemporary voices and timeless classics, Horizons explores stories of resilience, identity, friendship and shared human experiences.

We’re incredibly proud to have played a key part in bringing this year’s theme to life. From the concept and key art, the printed program, festival trailer to the digital ad campaign, we were involved in every step of the creative process. The goal? Put Horizons on centre stage and provide different ways to enjoy and engage with it, all while celebrating the remarkable cinema of Czech and Slovak Republics.

Lights, camera, action!

Opening its curtains on Friday 9 October at Classic Cinemas, the powerful and uplifting film, Invincibles, set the tone for this year’s theme with a heartfelt story about resilience, friendship and determination. With 21 films running from 9-18 October 2026, CaSFFA continues to share classic and contemporary Czech and Slovak films to Australian audiences across Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane.
