A (Handmade) Christmas Tale
Our 2017 Christmas Party was one of the most sense-ational ever! Find out what gifts we (hand)made, how smoothly we bowled, where we partied, and who won big at the Sense Awards!
Another year at Sense draws to a close, and what a year it’s been. We’ve gone all out on a couple of big projects this year, some of which you may have seen already, others yet to come – including our biggest TVC campaigns yet, currently in post-production – and it’s fair to say that the team deserved to be treated with a suitably indulgent Christmas party after all their hard work.
The festivities kicked off with the traditional Sense Kris Kringle, as ever enlivened by a Stealing Santa (also known as Dirty Santa or White Elephant Gift Exchange) twist that encourages more strategic devilry than the US presidential primaries.
The big difference? This year, all Kris Kringles had to be handmade. The results varied from the artfully grotesque to the absurd, the potently alcoholic and the truly inspired (sometimes in equal measure). Suffice to say, it was a blast. Keep your eye out on our Instagram for examples of the team’s loving craft.
After a brief window to freshen up, the team reconvened for further seasonal indulgence at Neighbourhood Wine, a smashing North Fitzroy venue specialising in locally provident foods, bio-organic wines and the kind of authentic décor vanishing all too rapidly in an age of Edison bulbs, pseudo-industrial fittings and artificially aged wooden counters.
There we ate, drank (somewhat sensibly) and chuckled through the presentation of the Sense Awards 2017, acknowledging the standout performers in categories as diverse as best studio barista to most proficient purveyor of puns as voted by everyone in the agency.
It was, in all, a sense-ational time (see what we did there?). A big thank you to the venues involved, and an especial thank you to our clients who inspire us to keep producing work we can all be proud of. From everyone at Sense, we wish you a fantastic holiday season, and a banging start to the New Year.
We can’t wait to see what it has in store. See you in 2018!
