The AGDA Design Awards 2016
We’re pretty chuffed to announce that our work has been nominated not once, but three times in this year’s AGDA Design Awards.
We are finalists in three categories in this year’s AGDA Design Awards and we’re pretty happy about it.
The AGDA have reported a massive increase in creative design in Melbourne (over the past twenty years) and so, starting this year, the Awards will be held annually, not every two years. This means more celebration, stimulation and discussion within the industry, but only a mere twelve months to revel in any recognition and repair any damage done in the “knees up.”
This year we have been shortlisted in three categories: Packaging, Photography and Print.
Packaging: Melbourne Moonshine.
For this high-end hooch we wanted to capture the true spirit of the American South, at a time when life was tough and gritty and liquor was outlawed. For the branding, packaging and website we drew influence from the bootleg history of moonshine, the sills – handcrafted from copper hammered over tree stumps – and the shape of the celestial moon.
Design Crafts (Photography): Botanic
The intent, to create a living, breathing brand for this luxury apartment development, located directly opposite Melbourne Royal Botanic Gardens. The name almost chose itself, the stunning photography was shot and retouched entirely in house.
Print: Sense Wrapping Paper
Borne from our hatred of waste, the Christmas wrapping paper has become our yearly office challenge. Sense’s creative minds have in the past produced yuletide wrap that is charming, sometimes confronting and occasionally bewildering. We’ve made use of scraps, shreds, offcuts and spiked projects because at Christmas we’re all about waste not want not… unless you got us something already.
Winner tba. If we win, we’ll let you know.
