Pentridge Unlocked Exhibition Opens May 21
As part of our ongoing work with Shayher Group on their redevelopment of Pentridge, Sense has curated an exhibition inspired by its history.
Held in the space known as the Annex, Pentridge Unlocked launches on May 21 and will run for three weeks. Photographs of Pentridge will be on display, accompanied by interesting historical facts about the prison. In addition, six filmed performances will be shown, featuring fictional representations of guards, prisoners and people ‘on the outside’. A sound installation, located in a chamber adjacent to the Annex with a view to the cells of Division B, will add to the experience.
Also launching on May 21 is the Pentridge open day. This fun, family-friendly event will include live entertainment from local musicians, a selection of Coburg’s finest food trucks and regular tours of Division B, offering a never-before-seen glimpse into the prison buildings.
If you’ve ever wanted to know more about Pentridge, this is the perfect opportunity to take a look behind the bluestone walls.
